I Extraordinary, I'm Fabulous

I have decided.

That I will not blame others, circumstances or oneself

for whatever happens, both in the present, past,

and in the future.

I am responsible for myself.

And God will not leave me.

I might fail. But He did not.

He will work closely with all things in my life

together for good to me.

I do not want to constantly run to carry the burden of the past.

I also do not want to be stuck in the fear of the future.

Pernah menyesal dilahirkan sebagai 'orang biasa'?

Dibandingkan temanmu yang orang tuanya memiliki 17 perusahaan, atau temanmu yang suka gonta-ganti mobil mewah, atau sahabatmu yang harga sepatunya saja setara sebuah iPad, kamu mungkin tidak mendapat perlakuan istimewa dari sekelilingmu. Kamu lantas berharap seandainya hidupmu lebih baik, seandainya orang tuamu lebih kaya, seandainya kamu bisa belanja apa saja tanpa batas, pasti orang tidak akan memandangmu sebelah mata lagi. Atau mengangguk penuh hormat. Paling tidak, mereka akan bersikap sedikit lebih manis padamu. Demikian mungkin anggapanmu.

Benarkah?

Mungkin saja.

Biasanya orang akan memberi perlakuan istimewa pada seseorang yang mereka anggap pantas untuk mendapatkannya.

Mungkin karena dia anak konglomerat.

Mungkin karena merk pakaiannya. Atau merk sepatunya. Atau karena mobil mewahnya.

Atau mungkin karena jabatannya.

Tapi tahukah kamu, bahwa sesungguhnya bukan orang itu yang mereka hormati. Yang mereka hormati adalah orang tuanya jika dia anak konglomerat. Merk pakaiannya jika mereka tahu itu mahal. Atau merk sepatunya. Atau merk mobilnya. Tapi tanpa semua atribut itu, siapakah dia? Masihkah orang memerlakukannya dengan istimewa?

Jangan berkecil hati, teman. Tidak diperlakukan istimewa oleh orang lain bukan berarti kamu tidak istimewa. Itu justru sebuah tantangan agar kamu berusaha keras, berjuang untuk hidupmu, untuk dirimu, bukan demi sebuah pengakuan, melainkan sebuah ekspresi diri, ungkapan rasa syukurmu pada Tuhan atas kehidupan, kesempatan, potensi dan talenta yang telah diberikanNya padamu.

Jangan mau dihormati hanya karena pakaianmu bermerk.

Kamu berharga, terlepas dari cara orang memperlakukanmu. Sebenarnya mereka bukan tidak menghargaimu, teman, mereka hanya belum melihat potensi dirimu. Karena itu, bangkitlah. Tunjukkan pada dunia potensi yang Tuhan taruh dalam dirimu. Bersinarlah, karena kamu pun adalah bintang yang ditaruh di dunia ini untuk meneranginya dengan potensi dan karaktermu yang bersinar cemerlang..
